I was given a bathing suit from Milk & Baby to facilitate my review. All opinions are, as always, my own.
Bathing suit season is coming! Living in the Ocean State, I have access to beach after beach, and am more than excited to take the girls in just a few weeks, but have been feeling rather apprehensive about breastfeeding there. Between the sand and possibility of chasing a toddler, I want security while I enjoy the sand and surf.
While I found great options when I was pregnant, including just wearing a bikini to accommodate the bump, nursing is a different game. I prefer to have my belly covered at this point, and with my larger chest, pulling my arm out from a one-piece top is difficult, could result in a wardrobe malfunction occurrence, and risks stretching out my suits. All not so great.
I read an awesome review about Milk & Baby on a blog and hopped over to their site to check out what else they had… let’s just say I am hooked. Before having a baby, I thought buying this stuff was insane, but being able to easily nurse and remain as modest as I choose to be (nope, I don’t wear a cover!) is crucial to being able to go anywhere and do anything while feeding on demand.
I’ve stocked myself with lots of tanks and bras, which are perfect for the day time and overnight feedings, but was worried about the beach, until I saw that Milk & Baby offers a maternity/nursing tankini! There are a lot of reasons I love this bathing suit, but here are my top 3.
1. It will last through pregnancy AND breastfeeding- if you live in a warm climate, that means this suit will work all through motherhood for you! And if, like me, you live in all 4 seasons, that means it will last through pregnancy and nursing without spending extra money on more than one suit or stretching out one you have!
2. The coverage and support are unparalleled. The feel of this suit is high-fashion, from it’s perfect seams to the full liner. The shoulders are totally adjustable and comes with strings on the side of the tank that can be cinched for no-baby belly and released for the bump!
3. The tankini gives the coverage I want over my belly, but the ease of a bikini. I love that I can throw a light sweater over the top and switch out the bottoms for underwear and shorts and go from beach to lunch without a hassle! Pure perfection for spending a whole day in Newport.
The top unhooks just like your typical nursing bra for easy breastfeeding access, then covers right back up- no pulling fabric, or shimmying out of straps.
The back is also really beautiful, with adjustable straps, a racer- back style and full coverage bottoms, that still have a low rise for comfort.
I feel like I could talk about this suit all day- but to see it is to believe!
I love this color pattern, but it also comes in a beautiful plum (I may just have to buy it for myself!).
I cannot wait to try this out at the pool at our LPA Regional conference weekend in May and at all of our beaches this summer! #FeedAllTheBabies
Thank you Milk & Baby for this awesome opportunity! Who do you know that would LOVE this suit for the summer?
