If you didn’t read THIS piece, do it now.
I don’t have too much to say about it (except that I AGREE!!!), but I will tell you that the “best” adults– the ones who taught me the most and the ones I still learn from today- are those who never lose their inner child.
The next time you flail your arms at the car in front of you, tap your foot at the elderly person taking longer at the self-checkout line, scream when you realize you left your wallet on the table at home and you’re already at work… the next time you have a temper tantrum, remember that child you were so quick to tisk. You too, in your 30’s have the same meltdown, you’ve just confined it to the privacy of your own home, car, or Facebook wall rant.
We are all looking out for the future- whether they’re our children or not. Won’t you teach them love, not haste?

Brilliantly written that piece is, so true… I have to say Ireland is a great place in that respect, most people would feel sympathetic to the parent… Kids will act in age appropriate ways and throw tantrums at times when you say no… Not much to do about it.

so very, very true! Thank you for this post -sometimes we just need a reminder that it’s not about hurrying through life, but actually LIVING that life.
