We all grew up with Nickelodeon making us laugh, so I ventured to check out Nickmom.com and see what was making so many of my friends LOL. No really- they were laughing out loud. I found out why.
First, I present the Martinka Christmas Photo 2009. There was a time when this was our family:
And there it was. I sat staring at my computer screen looking at a comic bit that wasn’t making me laugh as much as roll. Nickmom always has a way of capturing the reality of life and making you laugh about it… haven’t we all been here:
Little did Dave and I know that the dog (who needed to be walked) and the toddler (who wanted to consume an entire bag of Goldfish) would bring us to our knees in just an hour. So how did we achieve the perfect family photo? Well, there were a lot of blessings. No, clearly not the behavior of our babies. I was sneezing and everyone sent their ‘bless you’s’ my way. Not the answer I was praying for… but check out how it went:
First we were bored…
Then we weren’t all paying attention, and The Boss was directing us:
And then this will always happen…
Which is so embarrassing.
And then we were there!
See… that wasn’t so bad. Right?
I guess these will be what our memories are made of and where our headaches are born from! Parenting is incredibly rewarding and I am always so proud of how our photos turn out… but let’s be real: for all the perfect shots, there are 100 outtakes that make us cringe.Happy Holidays to you and yours! LOL! So VERY true! We get a lot of comments when taking photos about how well behaved my kids are and how they look right at the camera and pose. My response — “Mama has a blog. They’re used to it.” Take hope my friend, next year will go easier for you because she will have posed for a gajillion pictures in the next 12 months. Either that or bribe her with food. M&Ms have been known to work at my house. 😉

Really, any of these could have been used for a Christmas card. Your family is gorgeous! It’s so great to know that my family isn’t the only one with really funny outtakes. I didn’t even bother with Christmas cards last year, though I should have. It’s about time someone sent a #MotherFunny card. #client
