Hello,
My name’s Jared Benoff and I work in the Office of Public Affairs at the Labor Department. Tomorrow, Labor Secretary Tom Perez will travel to Providence to highlight paid leave, an issue that’s at the core of President Obama’s plan to help working families succeed.
As part of the #LeadOnLeave Tour, Secretary Perez and other senior administration officials are traveling the country to shine a light on the fact that we’re the only industrialized country without a federal paid leave law. As Labor Secretary and a father of three, these issues strike a chord with the secretary.
Tomorrow he’ll be hosting a roundtable discussion on the topic with Rhode Island government leaders, community advocates, business, and workers and I’m writing to see if you’d be interesting in joining the discussion. Here are the details for the event tomorrow:
WHERE: Gold Internation Machinery and LNA Laser Technology, 136 Newell Avenue, Pawtucket, RI
WHEN: 3:20 p.m. Roundtable followed by a brief press availability
Please RSVP to me at your earliest convenience either by email or phone at 202-360-2876.
Thanks,
Jared
