More women than ever are choosing to return to work once they have had children, but sometimes this requires completing further education. An online MBA curriculum would allow you to take on many different careers, so even start your own business. However, the idea of returning to school can be quite daunting. How will you fit study in around raising children? While working flexibly can be difficult, at least you leave it behind when you go home. Studying can be a much bigger challenge. There is always reading to do, assignments to complete, or exams to revise for. However, it is possible. Hopefully, these tips should be able to help.
Ask for Help
You don’t need to do it all alone. There are many ways to get help. Speak to your tutor if you are struggling at school, you may be able to take some classes online, switch to a part time study program, or have some extra tutor time. Ask your partner to take the kids out for a few hours one day a week or to be in charge of bedtime, so you get some time to yourself. Use professional childcare if you need more study time, or ask friends and family to babysit.
Organize
Organization is exceptionally important to any student, and to any mother. So, to a studying mom, it’s even more so. Organize your childcare arrangements and then get into a routine. Put the kids to bed at the same time each night. Share the same homework hour with them after school, and make to-do lists.
Plan Ahead
Make sure you keep a diary and write everything down, as far in advance as possible. If you’ve got exams coming up, be sure to arrange some extra childcare so you can revise in peace. On the other hand, if the kids have appointments or meetings, make sure you can take some time off to be with them.
Involve the Kids
Involving the whole family is a great idea. Children pick up on change, or stress, a lot more than you might expect. If you are busy and stressed out, it could easily affect their behavior. Changes to their routine can worry and upset them. The best thing to do is be honest and explain to them. Tell them what you are studying and why. Let them help you revise, or play games with them relating to your studies. Answer any questions they may have. You never know, it might help you remember things.
Look After Yourself
Stress and illness will only slow you down. Look after yourself to make sure you stay fit and healthy. Get eight hours sleep as often as you can, sip water throughout the day to make sure you stay hydrated, and eat a healthy and balanced diet, full of energy and immunity boosting vitamins. Make sure you also get as much exercise as you can, even if it’s just some stretches when you get out of bed, and walk instead of drive.
If you would like to study, but you’re not sure which course is right for you, look at online MBA program details for ideas.

Involving the kids is such a great idea. Less stress on both of you. And taking care of yourself is an absolute must. No use doing all these and sacrificing your health in the process!

I finished my MBA while working full-time, but didn’t have kids yet. My husband helped me study, which was the online time we got to spend together some semester. These are great tips!

I am hoping to get my MBA… someday. It’s hard to juggle being an adult- I always wish I’d gone right through in my early 20s!

Keeping organized is key! I lived by the calendar when I was working on my Master’s degree. I probably could have asked for more help.

Organization is key, for sure. It’s so hard to ask for help- I fall into that trap a lot!

My mom did her masters degree as a single parent when my brother and I were little and it was definitely a great thing for her to do, both for herself and for our family. She was able to speak to her professors and get extended deadlines on most of her projects so that she could balance school with parenthood.

Despite staying busy with my 2 kids, I have been trying long to find a way to complete a degree, but could not do much about it. May be after couple of years I will be able to get in to it and the online MBA curriculum sounds really interesting!

That is my goal, as well!

This is awesome. I’ve never been to college but know of lots of people, including moms who have / are 🙂 What a great way to include kids in the process.
