Dear Ellen,
You’re not welcome here.
You’ve spent years speaking from a platform of advocacy, and yet you’re selective of who you include, and your lack of actual inclusion is, in fact, exclusive.
It’s amazing, your ability to tear people down trying to be funny.
Trying.
You try a lot, and you miss the mark.
Your goal seems to put all eyes on you as you celebrate others with a look at me doing that, too! shtick that is so overdone at this point, you remind me of nothing more than rubbery chicken plopped on a plate.
The heavens seemed to have forbid you from celebrating what an important choice it is for a Black Woman to have a celebrated pregnancy in our country- instead mocking her. Taking her choice as your own, somehow.
And here you are, celebrating your own jokes, by demeaning others. You can’t just wear green, laugh, and be lucky- like you are every day making others laugh from your privileged place on stage. No, no. You had to take to the stage, on your knees, mocking the already inflamed stereotype of leprechauns, and taking it a step further, to the dwarfism community.
I want to say She’s just being Ellen. But I respected you. Your voice, the way you’ve used it before. How you advocate. Love. How much joy you bring to people.
I want to say you’re just you, Ellen. But you’re not. You’re a woman who has made mistakes in the past, and you skate on by with people by your side because you’re brave. But you’re not brave. You have used the political card, the sexuality card, the woman card. And I pull the race card.
This is privilege over the top, and you’re not welcome here.
See your way out of the dwarfism community.
You don’t make us laugh. You don’t make us happy. You don’t support, or advocate.
You demean. You mock. You’re no ally.
Ellen, you are a part of the problem. Click To TweetGet it together.
