This amazing post has been sponsored by GlassesShop.com. These glasses are stunning… as always- the opinions and words are all my own!
My eyesight hasn’t been great for almost 20 years, which means I’m forever at the mercy of contacts or eyeglasses. Expense + Fashion can lead to an unbalanced outcome, for sure, so I am always looking for the best deal, best quality, and of course, best style. As we come up on the summer, I am in need of prescription sunglasses that will take me from squinting mom in her favorite hipster glasses, to cool mom who can drive to the beach on a whim!
The sun + shade conundrum for glasses wearers:
If you wear glasses, and you like the frames, you know that wearing your favorite frames on a sunny day always leads to squinting while driving, moving the visor every time you go around a curve, and an inability to see your babies on the beach without worry.
So, if you know me, you know that I only wear glasses on rainy days, to avoid the need for sunglasses. This then leaves me with the need to clean my glasses all day because of the rain drops. Thus, I wear contacts pretty much every single day.
BUT I BOUGHT FRAMES THAT I LOVE.
I want to wear glasses
My purchase of glasses for all these years has become a part of me- though I have been given the opportunity to have surgery, it’s just not for me. I want to wear my glasses, in the rain and sun, so I searched out sunglasses that I could love as much as my tortoise glasses frames. This is no easy feat when this mama needs the coverage (hellooooo no crows feet!), style, durability, and price.
Aviators are the classic sunglass of choice- especially for me. My winter, spring, summer, and fall style always revolve around eyewear. No matter what your face shape, everyone can wear the triangular aviator sunglasses and look great!
They’re classic, created in the 1930s to protect pilots’ eyes from the glare of the sun, and really took off when WWII General Douglas MacArthur was photographed wearing them when he landed at the beach in the Philippines. And we all know the classic Top Gun Tom Cruise, who took our breath away, too- which brings us to today… Where aviators are still the king of sunglasses.
The Kent Aviator polarized sunglasses are made from lightweight metal material- perfect for all day wear, and the polished frame front and wrap-around arms are perfect for faces of every size. I love that full face coverage- so necessary for eye protection, but also that sensitive skin under and around the eyes, and the polarized lenses come with full UVA and UVB coverage. The adjustable nose bridge made the fit perfect- and easy to find, too!
Mirror, mirror on the wall
But it’s not just the shape and how they feel- the lens has to be right, too! The more mirrored, the better!
And the Kent Aviator gives me all the mirror! I love the lightweight gold frame, but they also come in silver… so when you’re picking out the perfect sunglasses for you, there’s even more variety to choose from.
Save!
Prescription or not, eye care is so important, and sunglasses are at the pinnacle of that care. I’d love to know what your favorite sunglasses frame-style is! Obvi, mine is the aviator, but I am also a fan of a large, squared off rectangle.

Those sunglasses are SUPER cute!! I wear contacts ALL the time because I can’t stand wearing glasses during the day. (I don’t have prescription sunglasses.) There are days I have to wear my glasses because my eyes are so strained from computer work. I hate it!
