Recently, as part of my self-care journey, I decided to get back into playing sports. Almost immediately upon opening up to my quest to play, I learned of a softball team looking for more players for the remainder of their summer season. I’ve never played softball before but I figured I would give it a shot. There’s only a few weeks left in their season and I hoped it would be the catalyst to finding love of a new sport. Honestly, the registration was not expensive, and that was a huge factor. I don’t like to spend a lot of money on myself, so I agreed to it, and played my first game in a black tank, shorts, and old sneakers. Thankfully, I was told I could rely on others for a helmet and bat.
This proved to be a mistake.

Batter up

I wasn’t frugal. I was stupid.
UPDATE:
Before posting this, Amazon showed up at my door. As I opened my package, I became grateful for not having the chance to drive to the second hand store this week… my bestfriend’s husband bought me the most LIT cleats ever. So, while I may still be terrible at softball, I’mma look real fancy doing so!
Made me realize a few things 😉 Thanks for this post!
