This country has descended too far into howling lunacy to ever return to any degree of sanity.
How assinine, when will this madness end?
FTA: \”I am fully aware that these pickles are just pickles—and my daughter is a human.
Are you sure Michelle are you really sure your daughter is not a pickle?
I cannot believe that I live in such a ridiculous time when somebody is offended by the term midget pickles….what are they going to call them, little whiners? Little whiney pickles?
She is not even a midget, she is a dwarf…..a midget is a small person with normal proportions….she is a dwarf, so why is she offened by this word?
Pickle Company to Distraught Mom: Yes, We’ll Change Our Name (Midget is Derogatory)

Cains Pickles removes a derogatory term from its labels after a mother’s protests. An average day at the grocery store for Rhode Island mom, Michelle Martinka, turned into a moment of activism when she noticed that Cains Pickles, a popular New England brand, produced a line called “Kosher Dill Midgets.”
Martinka is the mother of ten-month-old Adelaide, a little girl with a form of dwarfism known as Achondroplasia—and “midget” is a derogatory way of referencing those born with the condition.
In response, Martinka waged a peaceful protest, which included the above YouTube video, urging the company to change the name of its product—and so it did, gracefully, without objection or fanfare.
Gedney Foods, the makers of Cains Pickles, explained to the Star Tribune, “The company is not seeking any attention related to this matter and believes that any publicity should be more appropriately placed on the children and families dealing with Achondroplasia.”
In her email to TakePart, Martinka explains, \”Although many people do not know, the m-word is derogatory, not just some innocuous word meaning small, as it was 50 years ago.\” She says, \”I am fully aware that these pickles are just pickles—and my daughter is a human. This was my first step in educating just one company. Years ago I may not have had the drive for such an undertaking, but change happens when situations arise—new circumstances, such as having a child diagnosed with dwarfism.\”
When asked what she hopes her daughter will someday learn from this, Martinka says, \”I hope Addie takes away the knowledge that she can bring change. I hope she learns my motto to not be reactive, but [to be] proactive and educate.\”

Uhmmmm……
Mental Midget, short on self confidence and the hieght of stoopitity…
Kosher Dill Dwarfs?
Kosher Dill Little People?
What an incredible bunch of idiots (and I use the term not caring in the least whether it is considered politically incorrect these days). How and when did the word “midget” enter the ever-growing and possibly infinite category of words that someone, somewhere, might possibly find insulting? The mother, as well as the “journalist” who wrote the story, should know that achondroplastic dwarves are not midgets, anyway. They are dwarves. There is a difference. Finally, if I lived where Cains Pickles are sold, I would be getting in touch with the company to explain that I would no longer purchase their product because of their spineless accommodation of this stupid woman. The cost of relabeling the pickles and of promoting the new name will no doubt be passed along to consumers, and I would rather not help pay.
Vertically Challenged Kosher Dills.
The kid isn’t really a midget anyway, she’s a dwarf.
The M word???? Are you kidding? How about the G word? As in I give up.Things like this would have been a comedy routine a few years back.
