1. Paper Plates– We are packing and moving and marking boxes… for the most part. Having paper plates to alleviate the last week of packing and first week of move-in is truly invaluable. My sanity is worth a few paper plates!
2. Get the essentials delivered. To make packing and moving easier, we’ve been using disposable diapers and wipes. While I can’t wait to get back to my usual laundering routine… it’s the routine I truly crave. To make it easier in the interim, we make sure that I have everything I need coming to the house so I don’t have to run out with the kids to gather essentials.

I have moved more times then I even want to think about which is why I probably have such problem solving skills in this area. I loved your suggestion of the subscription boxes because everyone wants new mail at their new house. What a precious photo to send as a new address alert! I love Hallmark too and love the idea of using their cards for new move alerts.

You have to take special care when moving with pets so they have time to acclimate to their new surroundings. We did it a number of times growing up!

Just moving myself and 1 cat was stressful enough for both of us–and it was from one side of the street to the other! Using disposable items during the transition only did make it a bit easier. Of course I had to carry my cat in a transfile box across the street-he was not happy but then cuddled down with my Mom who was busy supervising from my rocking chair in the new apartment.
