I stopped in to Hank’s Oyster Bar for a quick glass of wine while waiting for a friend, and their malbec was perfection. Had I stayed, cocktails dubbed who gon’ check me boo consisting of tequila, blackberry, orange, tonic and I Know What Boys Like with Bacon Washed Rye, Blended Scotch Whiskey, Burnt Sugar, Bitters, Orange were next.
The casual atmosphere, beautiful open front (at the Capitol Hill location) and a friendly staff made my solo venture and downtime quite enjoyable. I almost ordered off the late night raw bar menu, but got a text to join up next door, so I passed. My mind is still on oysters and the ever-accurate DC take on New England classics, so I’ll be back!
With 4 locations, there’s plenty of options to check them out in DuPont Circle, Capitol Hill, The Wharf, and Old Town.

Oh DC….I love DC. And now I know where to eat the next time I get down there (in the spring I think ). This place sounds great.
You’ll love it!
I have never been to DC yet and I am dying to go. This is probably a big reason why. I know they have some pretty awesome restaurants out there. Between that and the museums I could be in heaven for years there.

I got to try so many pricey wines tonight at a tasting dinner. I can honestly say I have no idea how to pick out notes, and flavors. My husband can though.
