Those first days are a blur. Sometimes it’s because you’re tired, but mostly, you’re just so in love. The weeks fly by and they’re alert and cooing and smiling. And it’s amazing.
But you will miss those days.
The first days.
In the first days there are things like being covered in milk and engorgement and healing and wondering what that smell is (it’s YOU, by the way, Mom). And there are snuggles, and warm toes, and late nights nursing a little body close to you. There are amazing things, and hard things and every other type of things in between… and my favorite part of it all- because I can’t keep them newborns- is the email that comes from the photographer telling me my images are ready.
Investments are important in life. Certificates of Deposit, Mutual Funds, Stocks, Bonds, 401k… and pictures. For me, losing my father at 13, pictures mean more than any dollar amount he could have left me. They mean I can relive all the moments that are on film (eeek! My kids won’t know what film is!).
As a mom, I get to have those moments again and again, as well… and my children will, too.
Thanks to Lisa, artist-owner-hero at Agroterra Photography, I have those moments. The first days are in pictures. Moments that Camille can see- the love her sister, father, Mima and I all shared on camera.
Unplanned moments I wasn’t sure were caught of me soothing her, or just playing around with my mom- who was off camera.
My sweet girl sleeping and of her showing off her newborn blue eyes. Of Dave, so tender. Loving his sweet girls, and being Daddy to his newest warrior.
The first days… they are a blur. I don’t remember her being this small. I don’t remember being tired or sad or worried. I see the happiness, the love, the newness of parenthood that comes when a little one is born- no matter how many children you have. I see our first days so beautifully, wonderfully captured in these moments.

What a little angel and look at all of that hair. My daughter Gina was born with tons of thick black hair. She looked like a doll baby too.

Awe, love your photos, they are certainly priceless! I totally agree too, I lost my parents young and they didn’t take a lot of photos, what I wouldn’t give to have more.

Those first few days were a total blur. I took each of my boys for newborn photos at the Picture People, but it wasn’t until they were about a month old.
I’m almost to month 3 and still feel blurry!

You only THINK you know how fast these days go by. My nephew is 13 with shoulders like a grown man, and he just keeps growing. It seems like it was only yesterday I was heaving him up into the air, his hair brushing our 15 foot vaulted ceiling and watching him laugh as he fell and I caught him. He laughed even harder when his gramma would yell at me to stop endangering his life. It was so long ago, but it feels like a blink. Just a blink.

Oh my goodness, those are gorgeous photos. What amazing memories to keep forever. I miss those first days. I really didn’t know to value every moment until my third and almost feel like I jipped myself out of really loving those moments with the first two

Such stunning photos. It’s wonderful that so many can be captured now. Back when I was a baby and there were no digital cameras the taking of photos was a challenge and therefore there are not that many of me and my brothers. Your family is beautiful

These are all amazing photos. My friend just had her newborn photos done. I can not wait to see how they turned out.
She is beautiful,, congrats. Yes, do not blink too long because before you know it they are another year older. I have 5 little ones and it amazes me that my oldest is already 9!
