Hey friends- the Martinkas are headed to Washington, DC for the 138th Easter Egg Roll– the last of the Obama administration. Since 1878, American presidents (and their families) have celebrated Easter Monday by hosting an ‘egg roll’ party. Held on the South Lawn, it is one of the oldest and most popular annual events in White House history, filled with activities for the whole family, which include storytime with celebrities, games, live entertainment, and the traditional Easter Egg Roll.
While our handsome boy Carter remains home (much to his pleasure- he loves getting playtime with his grandpa), we’re hitting the road hoping to enjoy a city I so very much miss, visit friends, and get caught up in the #LetsMove initiative of FLOTUS!
Addie is stoked to bring you lots of videos of both song and dance, plus some moments of our journey. She’s kind of ridiculous, so we’re packing the video camera to capture it all. You’ve been warned!
I just wanted to thank you for following our journey, which will mostly take place on YouTube and IG for the next few days, and I’ll write again as soon as we’re back and settled in MA!
Happy Easter weekend!
