Signed up for 2 races. Yep. There it is.
They’re only 5Ks, as I’m not able to train much, but I’m really excited to get out there and (not) run- to keep my fitness levels up this summer during my pregnancy, as I did with Addie. What’s really funny is where my belly is already!
From my belly size to where my girls decided to be (two very different bladder affecting places), there are many factors determining my ability as of late (including going more than 45 minutes without peeing!). I’ve been getting down (as in downward dog), and making sure to stretch and drink lots of water- so I feel well… but to get out there and show off how us mamas can race it, even if it’s slow and at the advisement of all medical professionals that I do not go above a power-walk, is my mission.
I hope that I’ll see some fellow Rhody runners at the races!!!! Both of these races are important to me for a number of reasons, including encouraging girls to get out there and be healthy, as well as supporting my ‘hood. Both races have tons of activities for the family, and are the perfect way to spend your weekend mornings. I hope to see you there!
Being pregnant is… well… it’s hard. On the body, the mind, the marriage, the workout. All things that I aim to take care of- all pieces of my life that I try to keep healthy and balanced. When I take the time to take care of me, I am taking care of my family, my marriage, my child. I am putting my health and wellness in balance, and thus offering balance to the rest of my life.
What do you do to stay centered? To take care of you? And… will I see you at the races?

I remember that with baby #2 as well! Your body just remembers all to well from the first pregnancy! Good for you, and best of luck on the races! And what did I do to stay centered? I did prenatal yoga and took walks- that did the trick! 🙂
