I get asked… what is work for you?
Work for me is finding, sharing, linking, SEO, pushing, asking (begging), repeated emails, on-call 24-hours, it’s coding and embedding and no-following, SEO, it’s commenting and hashtagging, it’s researching material, taking pictures, editing everything under the sun, being up-to-date, SEO (did I mention that, yet?), it’s hoping that you’ll like what I write/make/design enough to share it or see more about it for yourself, holidays spent at a computer and late nights drowned into early mornings. It’s Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook Fan Page, Klout, analytics, LinkedIn, groups, memberships, clubs…
More than anything, work for me is rewarding. Not in the classical, monetary way (for me), but in a way that lets me bring you, Dear Reader, things I want to share with you. Reviews and recipes I really love. Stories and snapshots of life that I hope inspire. And the truth about being your average family, even in a special needs world.
That’s work to me.
As I embrace this holiday weekend, thankful that Dave is home with us, I also take into account the blessings that include the opportunity to cultivate my mind, spirit and writing into something that I hope brings joy, knowledge and a respite to the day to all of the people who stop by! Thanks for being one of those friends.

I love my job, and I feel fortunate to do it everyday- I work with some amazing people in my ‘job’ and in my blog world I get to meet equally amazing people!
So true! Such an amazing job… just wanted to clarify for the many who feel like I get to work “whenever I want” and have no real job. This is a job!

I quite my job 9 years ago when our son was born and now 4 more kids later I am still home with our kids. It doesn’t pay but it is rewarding in other ways.

I’ve helped raise my niece and nephew from their birth. For most of that time, I was a stay at home, uncle (if that’s a thing). Even when I had to get another job, I tried to make it part time, so I could still hang out with them. I’m at a place where I can work at home now, so in just two short weeks, I’ll be able to match my schedule to the awesome kids in my life again! I’m super stoked.

I work full-time outside the home as a teacher. For me, blogging is my fun time!! It’s still full of the same stuff you mentioned (Facebook, SEO, and linkies….oh my!) and I love that I get to do it on my own time.

Being a blogger is definitely a lot of work. But I just love the flexible hours and not having a boss. I don’t think I will ever want to go back to a “real” job.

For me, work involves many of the same things. I find it hard to turn of the pc so I often end up working in the evening as well., My kids are teens so I have a lot of free time after 5 pm.

I hope I am still writing when my kids are teens! For now, as the day goes on I have less time as my toddler gets sleepy and more needy as the day ends.
