Life is all happening through the eyes of a child… For Christmas, Addie got two “big” gifts. One was a rocking horse from Santa. The other, a camera. As someone who takes a lot of photos, I thought she would love it! During the day I must take about 10 pictures of my kids, at minimum. I love sharing them with Addie and showing her my perspective, and she loves taking selfies of her and Millie. So Christmas morning, we set her free… with dead batteries. Our total #parentfail was replaced with joy as I skimmed through the photos she took this past week and saw her capturing what she told me were her favorites- things she loves so much. Through the eyes of a child, we learn to love. To live. To be free.

It is always interesting to see how kids view the world around us. My boys have always liked to ‘borrow’ our point and shoot cameras to snap photos. One son even asked for a cheap video camera for Christmas one year which he still uses.

Oh I love them. What a great way to see through her eyes. I love, love, love when I go to download the photos from my phone and come up with some random photos and selfies from the kids. HA! They especially like to take photos of their feet. HA

Ah this is great. My son got a camera last year at the age of four, it was a kids camera and he enjoyed snapping that button. This post is full of so much mommy love and admiration for your little girl. I love that.

Aww, look at her pics! My favorite artsy moments are too plentiful to list. The lastest thing we loved/laughed at was my son’s resolution he wrote in his 1st-grade class… “I will not whine at the dinner table when it’s time to eat my vegetables.” hahahha I tested him last night and he laughed at me…and then whined about having to eat his broccoli. 😉

My favorite artistic child moment might be from my last birthday when our daughter made a birthday card for me and it was a bottle of Sam Adams and a basket of buffalo wings. Anything that sets a child’s imagination free is a great gift. All of ours love blocks, crayons, you name it.

My daughter managed to take one of the prettiest selfies of herself. I do have to spend a ton of time going through my pics and deleting the ones that my kids take since my phone gets full.
So true- I always find like 20 minute videos of Addie looking at herself and making faces. Kills my memory!

So true- I can see what she’s getting at, and know that once we’re past this “dropping everything” stage, she will do great with her own simple point and shoot camera.
