I want to wish you a Marvelous Monday. It’s been a while since I just wished happiness to all… and I started to wonder where that part of me went. Where the 3-piece thankful, dwarfism fact, random-format went for my Monday posts. And then I remembered: On Mondays I wanted to share something cool, great, for the betterment of the world- whether it was a cool new movie, easy recipe, or just why I was grateful.
So this week, I am sharing. Me. Why. Legs. Sickness.
What the does that mean?
It means that I have been feeling ugly. Not mean. No… I’m always kind of mean, it’s just my dry-humor and sarcasm. I really am trying to just be funny. Sorry for that. But really ugly. Not running or exercising as much as I’d like. I’m tired. I’m so, so tired. And that’s not marvelous, it’s not marvelous at all!
But here we are at the 100th blog post with the title Marvelous Monday, and still no solid inkling as to what this post means. It means… I’m working on marvelous, clearly. And this week, I plan to lace up with my running partner, Melendy, and embrace the ugly. The pounds that hover just below 150 are threatening to tip the scales. It doesn’t sound like much, but I measure myself by my weight. Everything is some pathetic mathematical equation, spliced together to create some super number of LBS or BMI or ABCs. What matters? Health.
So, I’ve signed up to run. And RUN I shall!
Maybe you’ve seen my Team in Training button on the blog, or read other posts about them- however you know TnT, please know how much I believe in the mission. Let me rephrase: The Mission. The.
I run to cure. I run to save. I run. I run. I run.
I cannot save the world, but I can sure as heck try. Everything means something when you’re a parent and even the slightest attempt to take care of yourself is a great feat in preparation, childcare and timing. I’m glad to be working towards taking care of my health, and fighting cancer in my community.
My beauty is just a mile followed by another mile. It’s what I do that counts. Have a marvelous Monday, Reader! Don’t forget to do you this week!
I feel like that when I don’t workout, too, so I get it. I was completely out of commission for most of December and all of January because I tore my calf muscle. Even now, I am still on light duty in my krav maga class, which is almost absurd, but at least I am doing SOMETHING.
I hope you’re back in the game soon!

You are always such an inspiration and though you may ‘feel’ ugly, you are far from it… You are kind, beautiful and amazing 🙂 Sometimes we need that break from working out and such, so just get get back when you can and give yourself a break when you need it 🙂 Hugs
Thank you so so much <3

It is always great to take a little time off here and there to reenergize, reinvigorate, & refresh. Usually, it means a return with a renewed self, vigor, and excitement. You have to take care of you, in order to take care of others.

I just completed my 2nd Ragnar Relay. I was one of the biggest people out there, but honestly that made me super proud. I did something super hard, even at my size. You can do anything you set your mind to!

I absolutely love this line “I cannot save the world, but I can sure as heck try.” Amen to that! It’s not always the outcome, but our attitude and every step counts. Kudos on the running goal and for addressing your health needs. That’s a touchy subject matter for me, too, and I’m also trying to take strides to improve. Wishing you all the best!

You have such a beautiful spirit, and it just oozes out of you. If you gained 100 pounds and never ran again, you’d STILL be beautiful!

I’ve been felling pretty ugly lately, too. Sick kid equals no sleep in about a week. I’m falling asleep at my computer.

I can understand the feeling ugly. I feel tired. I mean really tired. I have slept almost 15 hours a day for the last week and still feel tired.
