If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one. ~Mother Teresa #LoveIsInTheDetails @Avent_US Click To TweetIf you’ve followed our feeding journey, you know that I’ve been donating breast milk since Addie was born. Most recently, to my friend’s daughter Ella. When I started to pump, it was due to an excess of breast milk, but then my doula and friend was diagnosed with cancer while she was pregnant. Knowing her journey would be long and unsure, she asked me if I had extra milk for her.
Always.
Though Erica did not beat her cancer, her sweet Ella is strong and beautiful… she is her mama. And I, her milk mama. I could not be more thankful for help as I’ve taken this journey, one I never thought I’d be on. One I could not imagine.
The biggest help to me has been a good breast pump… of which I’ve used a few. Finding one that gives me great comfort as well as functionality is key- especially because we’re always on the go!
Because Millie doesn’t actually drink my pumped milk, she’s apt to not let me sit and take a moment to pump, but the Avent Comfort Double Electric Breast Pump has thought of everything to make any time I do have to pump, more than possible; it’s comfortable.
The unique design allows me to sit totally upright- no more leaning forward to pump. If you’ve used some other pumps, you’ll know what a great feature this is!
The flanges are so comfortable, featuring innovative massaging petals- which are soft and totally cushion the breast. The pump mimics a baby’s natural sucking, which helps stimulate letdown and milk flow!
Tip: Looking for other helpful ways to assist with let down?
Try being around your child laughing or crying- as long as it’s not stressing you out.
Drink a nice warm beverage.
Listen to relaxing music or read a book.
The Avent Double Electric Breast pump comes with everything you need to pump, store and serve your liquid gold- and fits together easily and quickly for efficient pump usage- every time. A really unique feature: the guards that come with the pump. I love them because they offer options. Me? I love options. Use the guards to cover the flanges to keep them from dripping, when I can’t clean my pump right away, but they’re also ideal for keeping them clean and sterile before your next use. Seriously… who doesn’t love multi-functional pieces?
The compact Avent Comfort Double Electric Breast Pump is so lightweight and comes with a sleek black tote, making both travel and storage easy and pretty. I think you get it… the love is truly in the details with this breast pump.
My journey with Camille has been one I always dreamed of; late night cuddles and early morning milky breath. Breast feeding has been both a blessing and dream, though not every mother is afforded the opportunity, and I think you’ve probably read that about my story, as well: Addie and I had a pretty terrible nursing relationship, and I ended up pumping for well over a year. From on-lookers to other mothers commenting breast is best to me as if I’d never read a single parenting article broke my heart.
What is best: a fed baby. A happy, fed baby. #LoveIsInTheDetails @Avent_US Click To TweetThe beginning of my mothering journey was hard, as it is for so many, but it taught me that we all deserve love and respect for our choices. It taught me that we can never know another woman’s story. It taught me that there is no single right way to parent.
Your story is not just what everyone sees, but the moments that make it whole. Let’s walk through this crazy journey of parenthood together.
Are you ready to experience the comfort of the Avent Comfort Double Electric Breast Pump?

Breast pumps sure have come a long way since my kids were babies. I tried every pump on the market back then and hated them all. I sure wish this one would have been around back then. It’s so sweet of you to donate your breast milk.

I have never understood why some people tear down others for things like how they feed their child. The fact that a mother is feeding her child is what’s important. How each woman does it is her own business. This pump sounds like it’s got great features, and I would imagine being comfortable is a welcome benefit.
Chelley @ A is for Adelaide says
AMEN TO THAT!!! I am not sure why there are so many options out there, meant to use, and yet we tear people down for choosing… totally insane!

Babushka remembers the leaning forward to pump and wishes this had been around when The Trio were babies. Definitely would have used it,especially when my son would gum nipples so hard they would bleed. Painful, but not as painful as growing up without your Mama. God bless that precious child, and you for your very important part in her life.
Chelley @ A is for Adelaide says
OH OUCH! Poor mama!!!
Yes, sweet Ella will indeed miss out on her mama, but she is surrounded by so much love and all the memories she will ever need <3

Hi Shelley,
I’m expecting a baby girl with achon or possible other SD. Can you give me some instruction how to brestfeed her? Are there some special poses? Sorry for my english, I’m so happy I found your blog! You really give me hope that may be I could manage with this situation.
Chelley @ A is for Adelaide says
Hey love!!! I am so excited for you! You can definitely breastfeed a baby with dwarfism! After birth, there could be complications, depending on the dysplasia- so please do prepared for that. Tube feeding would impede breast feeding, but a great pump will help you make and save milk for your babe. When feeding, be sure that you are supporting your baby’s head and back. Children with achondroplasia, specifically, need to be held with a straight back- you will want to avoid a “C-curve”. For that reason, try a football hold, or, even better, side lying, so your baby can be on their back and supported on a bed, or other hard(er) flat surface- sure to not bend their neck, back or spine, and not bend the neck- potentially impeding breathing. Please feel free to email me through the contact page–> https://aisforadelaide.com/contact/

I wish I’d had this when I was breastfeeding. I used a manual pump and it was awful. I got backache from leaning forward and I never got much milk. I should have gone for an electric pump.

I pumped a lot with my son and exclusively breastfed my daughter with a little pumping here and there.
I used an Avent manual pump with her when I needed to pump really quick and I loved that pump. I loved the ease of how all of the pieces worked together so I know this pump if anything like the hand one I had is amazing. I loved Avent products when I was in that stage of motherhood.
