Enter Into My Healthy Home

When I first became a mother, I knew that I wanted to be the best I  could be for my family… and as I learn more, I find that being my best also means surrounding ourselves with the best. For me, this meant a lot of purging- mostly products from all aspects of life. Repeating the mantra healthy child healthy world, I truly felt it my social responsibility to make my kids (YES baby 2 is on the way!) a home with more renewable sources, free of parabens and harsh chemicals. Being a part of the #CollectiveBias, I learned about a new product line that fits our lifestyle perfectly.

With a growing family and less time to shop around, I found myself at Walgreens, perfectly nestled on the corner near our aqua-therapy office. Looking for all of our usual family needs from paper products to toiletries, I landed on a brand that is both affordable and meets my standards- #WalgreensOlogy.

Due to Addie’s incredibly long hair, at just 2 years old she uses the same shampoo I do- making anything with dyes or excessive fragrance a big no-go for us. The Ology shampoo and conditioner scented in White Pear & Cucumber, are the perfect additions to bath and shower time and have the extra benefits of being moisturizing (hello perfect summer accessory!), plant and mineral based, and sulfate free. Addie giggled, “mmmmmm,” as she helped me wash her hair during our first use- I had to agree! And even after a light yoga session, my own hair was still looking good and smelling light and fresh, a day after use.

So what else is new on my Walgreen’s shopping list?
The Essentials… which for us (being a house with a toddler for Boss) means a lot of nose blowing and thus hand washing. For starters, our shower and both sinks have a lightly scented bar of the naturally exfoliating Oatmeal & Honey triple milled soap. Not only do I love this soap for its hand-crafted qualities, but also because it is made in the USA! The exfoliating properties means our hands are always feeling soft and clean, which I crave with my hands seemingly always being in water- and makes it perfect for late nights when I just need to wash my face and get to bed! The tissues, a must for this season, made from renewable sugarcane husk and bamboo (YES 100% tree-free), are soft enough for the constant allergies we all battle at a price that keeps us well stocked- and the box is super cute!

When I look at all of our use:  oil, gas, electricity… knowing that I am giving my family products that are not tested on animals, are packaged in recycled (and recyclable) materials and have a broad range of products (I love brand loyalty!), I feel better about our future and making our home and healthier one for all.
