As a busy mom who prioritizes her kids, it can be tough to carve out time in the day just for you. Self-care is an incredibly important aspect of your lifestyle, as it helps you be the best mom for your family. Make sure you allow time for a daily workout that will boost your energy and give you the ability to keep up with your kids. Morning time is the ideal part of the day for physical recreation or activity, as it is more difficult to carve out time in the middle or at the end of your hectic day. Here are some tips on how you can schedule effective workouts into your morning routine:
Time of Day
Start your day early, before the rest of your family is awake. Have your exercise planned an hour or half hour before the rest of the house rises for their day. If you try and work out when everyone else is awake and in their morning routine, you may become distracted. Check in with your partner about your workout session and set up a system where they can be the instigator or the back-up for the morning hustle and bustle. Working out in the morning will help you work out any stress and provide you a moment to think clearly about the day.
Location
Choose a location that is both effective and convenient for your workout. If you live in a rural area where a gym or recreation center isn’t easily accessible, then a home workout is your go-to. Create a special space within your home that you can quickly transform into your own exercise studio. Have a basket located within the room that contains everything you’ll need for your exercise routine—like a yoga mat, hand weights, jump rope and resistance bands. If you can leave your house for a quick workout, you should take advantage of the opportunity. Gym facilities let you switch up your workout with their wide variety of equipment so you never become bored. Find the right recreational facility for you, whether it’s an indoor rock climbing gym, a public swimming pool or an athletic recreation center.
Easy Exercises
Don’t try and go too far, too fast, with your exercise routine. Choose activities that you enjoy and will continue in the long-term. If you enjoy being outdoors, choose an outdoor walk, run or cycling excursion for your morning workout. If you’re at a loss for the kind of exercise that’s best for you, try a little of everything. Luckily, you don’t need to have complicated machinery to have a good workout; you can use your own body for weight resistance. Try some basic yoga or pilates at home. Both require only a mat and some video or written instruction. You can also explore workout methods and regimens online, given the endless instructional video resources available.
Tools
Don’t go overboard and purchase unnecessary workout tools and accessories. Just buy the items that you will actually use. Make sure you have a good set of headphones so you can listen to motivational music on your smartphone or music device. Your headphones should be able to comfortably sit on your head, or remain in your ears, so you can move with ease. You should also have a high-functioning smartphone that provides quality video. The LG G5 has a 5.3” Quad HD screen that makes viewing workout videos or other media enjoyable and easier to follow along. It is the ultimate exercise tool when you need a little extra video guidance and workout motivation.

I used to work out in the morning every day – and then I changed jobs. I work out during lunch now. If I try to wait until after work, it never gets done!

These are great tips! I wake up really early (5:45am) to get my kids ready for school, but lack the energy to exercise that early in the morning. I know if I put it on my to do list and make it a priority, I could get my workout in.

I always put it on my schedule- that was I KNOW I will do it!
