Hi Chelley,
First, thank you for your amazing website. I stumbled on it from BlogHer and I LOVE it. Your writing style and your joy in life make my day and I look forward to an email telling me there is a new post. I shouted out to you and Princess Burlap on Facebook and Twitter the other day. As a Mom, you are fabulous. As a person, even more so. (and I hope that does not sound weird…….gushing about someone I\’ve never met). Your post …..and this is why. *trigger* struck me and I didn\’t want to post a comment in case it started a battle because you don\’t deserve that. That poor mother who wrote that letter. I want to just sit with her and tell her it is ok but a part of her will never be ok again. My heart breaks because she made a decision (that sounds pressured) based on guidance from \”experts\”, As patients, we are taught that medical personnel know best and to follow the doctor\’s instructions and orders. This mother did that and now has unbearable grief. While I know the \”final\” decision was hers, it sounds like the medical field failed her dreadfully and that is heartbreaking. I hope she finds a counselor she trusts that is separate from her medical facility and that the counselor can help her through the journey and maybe eventually find some peace. My prayers are with her. Thank you for sharing her letter. Maybe by writing that the healing process can begin in some small portion. I sincerely hope my comments have not upset you. I support everything you do to protect and raise your girls into amazing women! All my best—Stormy
