But what are some ways that being small can be celebrated every day?
Being Small is a picture book about a little girl who is scared to go to school because she’s the shortest kid in the class. She talks about all of the reasons that being short is a challenge, but her mother presents to her funny and unique advantages that only she has because of her height, instilling self-confidence in her. I love her ability to think on her feet- reminds me a lot of my own mom! Addie loved the story and coming up with ways that being short is kind of cool- including her water fountain platform being helpful to EVERYONE, and she’s glad she needed it so everyone could use it!
This is a great book for any child who bucks the system and doesn’t adhere to the rules of the growth chart! A super read for introduction to differences and problem solving- grab yours for summer reading and let me know what you think!
