It’s a Marvelous Monday… and I wanted to thank Leah DeCesare of Mother’s Circle for the Liebster Award! I learned about the Liebster Award from fellow blogger, Tammy, at Not Just Another Mom. I love introducing my friends to other amazing bloggers, and getting the opportunity to answer questions about myself that otherwise you may never know! So… if you’ve never heard of the Liebster Award. it’s passed around to bloggers from other bloggers as a way to help promote them, introduce readers to other sites and to have some fun!
Leah has nominated me to answer questions from her, as well as tell 11 things about myself. So this Marvelous Monday I’ll be reading deep into ME and digging out some goodness! Please check out the bloggers I nominate AND leave the name of a blog you would love me to check out in the comments section!
11 Things About Me
1. As cliché as it sounds, I wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember.
2. I’ve always been a writer and my dream is to publish a book. A bound book. I actually dream about how it would feel to hold a book in my hands and see my name on the cover and get the chills.
3. More than anything, I want my kids to have both parents well into their adulthood. Losing my father at 13 was a horribly defining moment in my life and a loss I don’t ever want the girls to know. I wouldn’t be me without the struggle, but I miss him every single day.
4. I speak a little bit of French but can’t remember any of it until I have to. It’s terrible, but it was how I passed tests but failed classroom participation in school!
5. I’ve known my husband since I was 18, but we didn’t date until I was 23.
6. On that note, our first date was breakfast and he split the bill, didn’t drink coffee and was a vegetarian. I didn’t want to go on another date. He convinced me otherwise. I don’t pay on dates, he lives for coffee and loves red meat. #iwon
7. I want 5 children. I know it’s kind of nuts… I just want more!
8. When I became a mom I lost friends I thought I’d have for life. It nearly broke me, but the women I’ve befriended since those dark times have lifted me up so high, I know that everything happens for a reason.
9. Even if I had all the money in the world, I would still drive a Subaru.
10. Wherever my family is, I call home… but I’ll always be a #PhillyGirl.
11. I want to finish my degree in nursing and go for my masters.
Here are my questions from Leah:
Q: Why did you start your blog?
I started it from the hospital room where Addie was laying ill in a crib. I started it to bring myself information and others some light. Since that time, I’ve kept it going so that others can see there is SO much life beyond diagnosis.
Q: What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you?
I want to say my kids, but my husband brought them to me. So, the single best thing that ever happened was my husband’s drive to get me to say yes!
Q: What is a piece of advice you’d like to share?
Don’t give up. I was clinically depressed for over a decade. The dedication and love from my family and my wanting to get better got me to a good place. It’s a hell of a lot of work, but there is light. I promise.
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up? Are you doing it? Would you still want to?
A flight attendant. For real! I would still love to fly all over the world… but I’d rather be a writer, able to work form home with my babies!
Q: What’s your biggest fear?
Hands down. Spiders.
Q: Who is your hero? Why?
For the longest time I thought it was my Dad. Then I realized it’s my Mom. She’s done everything he did, only backwards and in heels. And alone.
Q: If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?
After paying my bills? I would start a dwarfism awareness campaign and scholarship for LPA members to go to college or take an internship!
Q: What do you value most in life?
Family and the bond that comes with blood. There are times that I’m not as close with my siblings or mom or even my in laws, but the love is always there. We get through it, and I value those relationships more than anything!
Q: What are you really really good at?
I’m really good at being a mom. Not that I’m perfect- not by a long shot- but I am good at it. I’ve always wanted to be a mom and I quite simply love children. And know how to love children. There are good days and bad and I’m always learning- that’s what makes me really good.

Number 9 is what stuck me. I had a Subaru and loved, loved it. My Hubs decided to trade it in on a new car. I still miss my old Subaru.

I think being a flight attendant could be great fun as I love to travel, too. Would be something I would consider, too, if I didn’t have children. Like you, I’m happy to be home with them and writing 🙂
