This is me.
After weeks of feeling like I was really sick, and a headache that lasted well over a week, I knew I had to make some changes. Slowly, I took on 6 new habits… and we all know how hard it is to make habits stick. Each day is work, for sure, but I know what good feels like, and I can’t wait to get back there.
So how did I get here?
Let’s just say I took 6 steps towards my own demise…
What being unwell taught me:
1. When every meal becomes a cheat meal, it’s just a shitty diet.
Nutrition is SO important to feeling good… and I know that. But knowing isn’t enough. I spent the better part of 7 weeks living on cheat meals… and I feel like hell. Oh yeah- and I have a headache.
When I was 30, I could still still do a full split. At 33, I have had a nagging pain in my hip, I can barley touch my toes, and my shoulders are constantly knotted. A few weeks of concentrated yoga, and a few days less lifting… and that thing I’ve been talking about (THE headache!) almost went away entirely!
It only took me just over a week to feel betterInsert facepalm here. Click To Tweet
Moral of the story… our bodies really will reflect how we treat them. Unfortunately, I was doing myself wrong. It’s not about the muscle for me right now… it’s about getting back to the basics of nutrition and a healthy routine of sleep and working out to ensure I feel good!
And that’s what an 8 day headache taught me!
Have you ever had a headache that lasted forever? How did you treat it?
