Ever hear the phrase
Keep it simple, stupid... Click To TweetThis is me.
After weeks of feeling like I was really sick, and a headache that lasted well over a week, I knew I had to make some changes. Slowly, I took on 6 new habits… and we all know how hard it is to make habits stick. Each day is work, for sure, but I know what good feels like, and I can’t wait to get back there.
So how did I get here?
Let’s just say I took 6 steps towards my own demise…
What being unwell taught me:
1. When every meal becomes a cheat meal, it’s just a shitty diet.
Nutrition is SO important to feeling good… and I know that. But knowing isn’t enough. I spent the better part of 7 weeks living on cheat meals… and I feel like hell. Oh yeah- and I have a headache.
Headache!
When I was 30, I could still still do a full split. At 33, I have had a nagging pain in my hip, I can barley touch my toes, and my shoulders are constantly knotted. A few weeks of concentrated yoga, and a few days less lifting… and that thing I’ve been talking about (THE headache!) almost went away entirely!
It only took me just over a week to feel better
Insert facepalm here. Click To TweetMoral of the story… our bodies really will reflect how we treat them. Unfortunately, I was doing myself wrong. It’s not about the muscle for me right now… it’s about getting back to the basics of nutrition and a healthy routine of sleep and working out to ensure I feel good!
And that’s what an 8 day headache taught me!
Have you ever had a headache that lasted forever? How did you treat it?

I’ve been there before and it was the worst feeling ever. But for me taking Advil helps. I agree with you that our body reacts to how we treat them.

It’s so true! I wish my husband would listen to his body. He never gets that all his little ailments are due to soda and the sweets and junk food and that if he just drank some damn water he might get rid of that headache because one of the first signs of a dehydration is a headache. Sometimes you’re dehydrated without even being thirsty. It sounds like you’re in a good place to continue down a healthy routine.

I am glad you found ways to ease the headache. I have been having tension headaches lately. With pressing deadlines, a sick parent, and sleepless nights, it is no surprise for me that I suffer from a nagging headache. Will heed your advice though. I think they are better than popping a pill every time.

Skipping breakfast won’t help you lose weight. You could miss out on essential nutrients and you may end up snacking more throughout the day because you feel hungry.
